Blubellwood Blog is the online creative studio of Michèle Keatley, bringing together original music, lyrics, visual art, poetry and intuitive creative work, all shaped by a deep connection with nature, landscape, spirituality and human experience.

I am an independent artist, lyricist, songwriter and creative practitioner. My work moves between words, music, visual art and intuitive expression, allowing different forms of creativity to develop alongside one another.

Much of my work begins with observation — a landscape, a conversation, a memory, a feeling or a moment that stays with me. Sometimes it becomes a lyric; sometimes a melody, an image, a piece of artwork or simply a thought that needs somewhere to exist.

I don’t see these as separate creative disciplines. They are different ways of listening to and expressing the world around me.

Blubellwood.co.uk is the space where this work comes together and where I can share what I create with others.

Where Words Become Music

Lyrics are at the heart of much of my creative work.

I am drawn to the spaces between ordinary language and the things we struggle to express. A line can begin as an observation, a memory or an emotion and gradually find its way into melody.

My music moves through contemporary folk, art-folk, indie and ethereal soundscapes, often drawing on landscape, nature, memory, spirituality and human connection.

Each piece develops in its own way, with the words remaining central to the creative process.

Much of my work begins with the natural world — its simplicity, complexity and ability to reflect something of our inner landscape.

The Beginnings of Blubellwood Blog

Today, Blubellwood Blog brings together music, lyrics, visual art, poetry, nature and spirituality — an evolving body of work shaped by experience, observation and a continuing curiosity about the relationship between our inner and outer worlds.

Blubellwood Blog grew from a lifelong relationship with creativity, language, music and the natural world. Early influences within my family — including my father’s love of language and creative expression, a strong artistic thread through generations, and my grandfather’s spiritual outlook — helped shape the way I came to see the world.

These influences remained with me through the many changes and interruptions of life, gradually finding their way into my own creative practice.

Art, Spirit & Healing

Through music, lyrics, poetry, visual art and intuitive practice, Blubellwood Blog explores the relationship between creativity, emotion, nature and spiritual experience.

Healing, for me, is not always about finding an answer. Sometimes it is about creating a quiet space to reflect, reconnect and allow something within us to be expressed.

Inspirations & Influences

My inspiration comes from the places, people and experiences that leave an impression — from woodland and coastlines to changing skies, water, light and the quiet details of everyday life.

Language and storytelling have always been important to me, alongside music, poetry, visual art and an intuitive awareness of the world around me. Family influences, travel, personal experience and encounters with others all find their way into the work.

I am particularly drawn to the relationship between landscape and emotion — how a place can hold memory, how a sound can evoke a person, or how a few words can open an entire inner landscape.

Where the Unseen Meets the Creative

Much of creativity begins in places we cannot quite explain — a feeling, an intuition, a memory, a sudden image or a line of words that arrives unexpectedly.
